Let destruction commence
Well, started work on our kitchen on Monday.
Basically for those that have been to our house, there is an arch in the kitchen.
We decided that getting rid of the arch would make the kitchen bigger, which I am sure it will
Here is a pic before we started:

You can see the arch in the middle being removed and supported.
The next picture you will see there was a supporting arch found.
The builder was concerned that after seeing the arch (which was probably a window from the original 1900s house). He was concerned that more work (3k+) would be the worst case cost for removing it. Neither our structural engineer nor himself guessed this would come up, here is a pic of the arch close up:

That sounds very disruptive- hope life is bearable as they do it. I also hope that the solution isn't too costly. Don't forget to post "after" pictures when it's all complete.
looks a bit like you've been using explosives in your cooking!
